Reporting to the General Manager, the Estimator & Project Manager calculates labor and material costs of electrical scope of work in response to Request for Proposal/Quote data submitted by prospective customers. An ideal candidate has strong relationships with many general contractors and key suppliers and agents to ensure a high conversion rate from submitted proposals to contracted work. For won work, supervise the field team to ensure delivery aligns to the proposal.

Duties

- Analyzes specifications including sketches, blueprints, bills of material or sample layouts, and calculates costs using labor and material pricing schedules and historical data
- Collects cost data from subcontractors, and vendors
- Computes cost estimates of materials, subcontracted work and labor
- Completes and submits formal estimates as requested and in the format required
- Supervise field delivery teams, providing the necessary support to ensure the project runs smoothly
- Manage key A material logistics, including ordering, shop drawing submission and shipping coordination

Qualifications





- Knowledge of building codes and Canadian electrical codes. Field experience as a Journeyman or Master electrician considered an asset.
- Skill in reading and interpreting plans, drawings and specifications (site, services and equipment)
- Ability to read and interpret RFP and RFI documents
- Strong computer competency
- Solid verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
- Numerous, strong general contractor relationships to ensure ample opportunities to bid work
- Strong supplier and agency relationships to ensure competitive material costs
- Ability to estimate MEP costs considered an asset

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00-$105,000.00 per year
