Our focus is on structural steel, miscellaneous metals, and industrial fabrication for the construction, mining and oil and gas industry. I&M; Welding & Fabricating Ltd. is currently seeking an Equipment Operator for our Lincoln PythonX Plasma Beamline.

Qualifications

- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience with operation of the PythonX machine
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Familiarity with metric and imperial measurements
- Ability to use and navigate a computer, and accompanying programs
- Physically fit and capable of handling components up to 50 lbs

The following experience is considered an asset

- Previous experience operating a Lincoln Electric PythonX Plasma Beamline
- Previous experience in custom fabrication of structural steel and miscellaneous metals
- CWB certified welder
- CAD and CNC programming,



and overhead crane experience
- Forklift and other mobile or heavy equipment operation training
- Safety certifications and training, including equipment operator

Responsibilities

- Participate in workplace safety initiatives by completing required safety documentation, toolbox meetings, and safety shares
- Follow all safety procedures including working with mobile equipment, lock-out/tag-out, working with hand tools and power tools, driving, fall arrest, etc.
- Operation of PythonX Plasma Beamline
- Operate manual and automatic tools, equipment, and machines including: plasma equipment, saws, torches, benders, rollers, threaders, hand tools, power tools, fork lift, etc.
- Understand material sizes and specifications or products
- Material handling and set up of equipment and machinery
- Basic programming and machine operation
- Cleaning and equipment maintenance
- Communication and coordination with welders/fabricators and supply chain coordinator
- Other tasks as required to meet client and operational requirements

Accountabilities

- This position reports to Shop Foreman
- Communicate issues of importance or concern to immediate supervisor in a timely manner
- Treat information in a confidential manner




- Comply with all relevant legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures
- Effectively manage assigned work and projects as directed
- Self-motivated in setting priorities for own work and meets deadlines
- Collaborate with others as required to complete projects and support team efforts
- Work to resolve conflict and maintain harmony among co-workers

Working Conditions

- 40 hours a week: 8 to 10 hour shifts as scheduled – night shift may be required
- Two 15-minute paid coffee breaks
- Lunch Breaks are unpaid: 1/2 hour
- PPE is provided including coveralls, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, etc.
- Overtime as required to meet operational and client requirements
