Production Supervisor

Our client, an established manufacturing organization located in the Brantford area, is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to join its operations team.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for an experienced manufacturing professional who enjoys being present on the shop floor, supporting employees, solving day-to-day production challenges, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to established quality standards.

The Production Supervisor will oversee a team of production employees and work closely with other operational departments to coordinate priorities, address issues, and keep production moving effectively.

- Provide day-to-day leadership and direction to production employees and team leads.
- Plan and assign work based on production priorities, employee skills, available resources, and customer requirements.
- Monitor workflow throughout the shift and adjust priorities or resources as required.
- Support employees in resolving production, quality, equipment, and process-related issues.
- Work collaboratively with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, Assembly, and other operational teams to address challenges and maintain production flow.
- Ensure employees understand expectations related to safety, quality, productivity, attendance, and workplace conduct.
- Coach, train, and develop employees to strengthen individual and team performance.
- Provide regular feedback and complete employee performance reviews.
- Address performance or conduct concerns and administer corrective action when necessary.
- Monitor departmental performance measures and identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency.
- Ensure completed work meets established workmanship, quality, and applicable ISO standards.
- Promote a clean, organized, and efficient manufacturing environment.
- Lead by example in maintaining a safe workplace and ensure employees follow established health and safety procedures.




- Ensure employees receive appropriate instruction and training for the work they are assigned.
- Communicate regularly with employees regarding production priorities, safety, quality, equipment, and operational changes.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities, operational projects, and other initiatives as required.
- Maintain confidentiality and conduct all business activities in accordance with company policies and professional standards.
- Perform other duties as required to support production and operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will bring a solid combination of manufacturing knowledge and people leadership experience. They will be comfortable working directly with shop-floor employees while also coordinating with other departments and management.

Ideally, you will have:

- A minimum of 5 years of supervisory or leadership experience, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience within metal fabrication, machining, welding, assembly, or a related manufacturing operation.
- A practical, hands-on leadership style and the ability to build credibility with production employees.
- Demonstrated experience coaching, training, motivating, and managing the performance of employees.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- The ability to manage changing priorities and maintain productivity in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- The ability to work effectively across departments, including Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations.

Qualifications





- Post-secondary technical education through a recognized college or university is preferred; an equivalent combination of education and relevant manufacturing experience will also be considered.
- Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and applicable regulations.
- Previous experience in a metal fabrication, machining, welding, or related manufacturing environment is considered an asset.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

This position is primarily based within an active manufacturing environment. The successful candidate must be comfortable working around industrial machinery, material-handling equipment, overhead cranes, tools, and other typical manufacturing operations.

The role requires regular time on the production floor, including prolonged standing and occasional bending, kneeling, or other physical activity. The ability to lift approximately 30 lbs. may also be required.

Some flexibility in working hours may be necessary from time to time to support operational and customer requirements.

Pay: $75,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
