Essential Job Functions

The Home Supervisor is a critical role where you will provide daily supervision for all assigned In-Home Care Providers in maintaining the smooth operation of the home for persons served. This position requires overseeing employees, handling staff files, and managing all documentation related to the assigned home.

The Home Supervisor will oversee daily operations, monitor staff adherence to Netsanak Wekowaw (My Siblings Home) LTD policies and procedures, and ensure the home environment is safe, clean, and welcoming for persons served. They will also play a key role in training and mentoring staff, offering guidance to ensure that all team members are equipped with the necessary tools and knowledge to perform their roles effectively. By maintaining close communication with staff and leadership, the Home Supervisor ensures the team delivers quality care while upholding the values and standards of the organization.

The Home Supervisor will be responsible for creating staffing schedules that support home operations and ensure full capacity and efficient functioning. They will also be tasked with addressing any identified gaps in performance, providing feedback to the program manager, and working to implement corrective actions.

Additionally, the Home Supervisor will be responsible for conducting regular performance evaluations, addressing any staff concerns or conflicts, and fostering a positive team culture. They will also track and report on key performance indicators, identify trends, and recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.

Work Conditions:

The Home Supervisor is expected to work 8 hours a day, 40 hours per week. However, there may be occasions where additional hours are required to ensure the smooth operation of the home and meet organizational needs.​

The Home Supervisor works in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, requiring the ability to handle high-stress situations, using trauma informed approach with professionalism and composure. This role involves close interaction with persons served, ensuring a supportive and safe atmosphere for all. The Home Supervisor must be able to adapt to changes in the workplace quickly, adjusting to varying situations while balancing administrative duties, managing team dynamics, and responding to the ever-changing needs of persons served.

Must fulfil shifts if needed in emergency cases.

The work environment requires strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and a collaborative approach with the Program Manager, Team Lead, and In Home Care Providers. The Home Supervisor will also need to address any urgent or emergency situations promptly, making quick, informed decisions to ensure the well-being and safety of all involved. This includes deescalating tense situations, providing trauma-informed approach, and managing behavioral challenges as they arise, all while maintaining a calm and effective presence under pressure. In addition to handling day-to-day responsibilities, the Home Supervisor is expected to remain flexible and adaptable, ensuring that the care environment remains consistent and safe despite any unpredictability of the work setting.​

After Hours Support Worker





After hours support is required for the Home Supervisor role to provide assistance during non-regular working hours.

Overtime Expectations

Overtime may be required and will be worked as needed.​ Flexibility in working hours, including overtime and after hours responsibilities, is part of the role, as the Home Supervisor must be available to address urgent situations and ensure continuous operations.

Travel Requirements

Travel is required as needed to support the organization's operations and meet specific requirements related to the role.​

Education & Experience:

A Degree or Diploma in Human Resources or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience working with children or youth.

They will also possess a Food Handling Certificate, Standard First Aid—Level C CPR certification.

The candidate should provide 2 character reference checks.

Key skills include strong critical thinking, effective oral and written communication, computer-based data knowledge, and experience in developing strategies and plans. Knowledge of Trauma-Informed Practices and strong priority management, along with a willingness to learn, are essential for success in this role.​​

A valid Class 5 Driver’s License and a clean Driver’s Abstract are strictly required for this position.
