Our client in the Waterdown area is currently seeking an experienced Glass Operations Technician to join their growing operations team.

This is an excellent chance for a mechanically inclined production professional with experience in continuous flow manufacturing, automated equipment, process troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and quality control.

Screener Operator

The Screener Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of screening equipment to ensure material is processed to the required specification and production targets. The Operator is accountable for equipment operation, product quality, material flow, housekeeping, and timely identification and reporting of equipment or process issues.

Position Summary

- Safely operate screening and associated equipment in accordance with established operating procedures.
- Monitor material feed, product flow, screen performance, vibration, and equipment operation throughout the shift.
- Monitor equipment for abnormal noise, vibration, temperature, material buildup, or other signs of malfunction.




- Perform required sampling and quality checks at the specified frequency.
- Identify and report off-specification material immediately and take appropriate action within established procedures.
- Safely operate counterbalance forklift to ensure material supply/ finished goods transfer is performed in a timely manner
- Accurately record production quantities, downtime, screen changes, and other required production information.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, PPE requirements, and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Ensure the equipment and surrounding work area are safe before starting operation.
- Immediately report unsafe conditions, equipment defects, spills, or incidents to the appropriate Supervisor.
- Maintain awareness of pinch points, moving equipment, dust hazards, and other process-specific hazards.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area throughout the shift.

Qualifications & Skills

- Previous manufacturing or process equipment experience is an asset.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to recognize abnormal equipment operation.
- Valid forklift training/certification and demonstrated ability to operate safely.
- Ability to safely perform repetitive physical tasks, including equipment cleaning and screen changes.
- Ability to work independently.
