​Job Summary

​We are seeking a driven Load Booking Specialist with 1 to 2 years of carrier-side experience to keep our fleet loaded, profitable, and moving efficiently. In this role, you will be responsible for searching load boards, negotiating top market rates with freight brokers, matching profitable loads to our company drivers and owner-operators, and managing load execution from dispatch to delivery.

​Key Responsibilities

​Load Board & Spot Market Sourcing: Continuously monitor load boards (DAT, Truckstop, 123Loadboard) to find, negotiate, and book high-rate loads for our fleet.

​Driver & Capacity Planning: Route and assign booked loads to drivers based on available HOS (Hours of Service), driver preferences, home-time schedules, and equipment type.

​Broker Negotiation & Rate Agreements: Negotiate competitive freight rates and accessorials (detention, layover, TONU) with brokers, and review rate confirmations prior to dispatch.

​Tracking & Fleet Support: Monitor driver movement, verify load pickups and deliveries, and assist drivers with routing issues, check calls, and facility access.

​Documentation & Admin: Collect and organize load paperwork (signed Rate Con, BOLs, PODs,



lumper receipts) and upload them promptly into our TMS for billing.

​Issue Resolution: Act as the primary point of contact during transit to handle delays, detention claims, or re-powering needs.

​Qualifications & Requirements

​Experience: 1 to 2 years of experience working directly for a motor carrier, trucking company, or freight dispatching service.

​Broker & Rate Knowledge: Solid understanding of lane pricing, spot market trends, and broker negotiation tactics.

​Equipment Experience: Familiarity with planning and booking loads for [Dry Van / Reefer / Flatbed / Power Only] operations.

​Tech & Tools: Experience using DAT, Truckstop, carrier TMS software, and ELD/tracking tools (Samsara, KeepTrucking/Motive, etc.).

​Regulations: Familiarity with DOT regulations, FMCSA Hours of Service (HOS), and driver safety standards.

​Communication: Exceptional phone etiquette and negotiation skills to deal with brokers and support company drivers under pressure.
