Summary

We are seeking a Fleet Manager to join our team at Clarke Road Transport. In this role, you will oversee our fleet operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with industry regulations.

Responsibilities

- Communicate with internal departments (planners, customer service, claims, compliance, maintenance, North Bay) to address issues or answer questions.
- Assign routes and loads to drivers based on plan
- Track shipments to ensure all appointments are met within designated timelines.
- Ensure systems (satellite macros, ETA’s, PTA’s) are followed correctly and company policies are enforced.
- Book driver delivery appointments as required.
- Provide correct service to customers with special needs, including updating information cards.
- Collaborate with planners and maintenance to ensure sufficient equipment for freight volumes.
- Send received documentation to the office ASAP for customs and deliveries.
- Inform operators about fueling locations and times.
- Manage drivers daily, including discipline and documentation when required.
- Ensure accurate compensation for drivers and owner-operators based on their contracts.




- Relay information on transit times, commodity details, and any DOT violations or warnings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

- Proven experience in fleet management or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years working in operations within the transportation industry (Fleet manager, Dispatcher, and/or CSR)
- AS400 (Preferred)
- Good knowledge of designated geographical areas, including highway regulations.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle changing demands.
- Sound judgement skills, including ability to prioritize workload and formulate decisions.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Schedule & work location

Monday to Fridayr or

Rotating shifts:

- Work Monday to Friday, then off for four days. Work Wednesday to Sunday, then off for five days. This pattern repeats.

· This is an on-site position. Employees are required to work from the designated workplace and remote work is not available.
