Technical Associate, Commercial Insurance

Are you highly organized, detail-oriented, and looking to build a career in a professional services workplace? We are seeking a Technical Associate to support our Commercial Insurance team in Ottawa.
In this role, you will work closely with experienced insurance brokers and account managers, helping to ensure the accurate and efficient administration of client accounts. You will play a key role in policy processing, document management, system administration, and client service support while gaining valuable exposure to the commercial insurance industry.

What You'll Do
Policy Administration & Documentation
- Assist with the preparation, review, and processing of insurance policies, endorsements, renewals, and cancellations.
- Ensure policy documentation is completed accurately and within established service standards.
- Support account teams with policy-related transactions and administrative workflows.
Data Entry & Systems Management
- Enter and maintain client and policy information within the brokerage management system (EPIC).
- Update records to ensure information remains accurate, complete, and current.
- Assist with data integrity initiatives and system maintenance activities.
Administrative Support
- Generate and distribute insurance documents, certificates of insurance, invoices, and other client-facing materials.
- Prepare documentation packages and correspondence for clients and insurers.
- Assist brokers and account managers with day-to-day administrative requirements.
Compliance & Record Keeping
- Maintain organized and accurate electronic client files.
- Ensure documentation meets brokerage procedures, regulatory requirements, and internal compliance standards.
- Work collaboratively with Operations and Compliance teams to support best practices.
Reporting & Documentation Management
- Assist in maintaining records and generating reports for internal teams and clients.
- Support ongoing documentation and workflow improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to operational efficiency through strong organization and attention to detail.
What We're Looking For
- Postsecondary education in business, administration, finance, insurance, or a related field is considered an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to learn new technology platforms and systems quickly.
- Experience in an administrative, insurance, financial services, or professional services setting is an asset.
- Experience with EPIC or other brokerage management systems is considered an asset.
