Overview

We are looking for an experienced Optician / Optical Technician who is enthusiastic about the eye care industry. Our ideal candidate is a licensed optician with hands-on optical lab and technical experience. You are detail-oriented, quality-focused, comfortable in a fast-paced environment and able to multitask effectively while making every patient and family feel welcome and cared for.

We are a leading paediatric eyewear specialist serving families in the Burnaby area and throughout Metro Vancouver. We work closely with eye care specialists across the region to provide children and families with high-quality eyewear and visual aid devices tailored to their individual needs.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist patients and families with frame styling and lens selection based on prescription requirements, lifestyle, visual needs, age, and personal preferences.
- Take accurate spectacle measurements, including measurements required for children and speciality eyewear.
- Perform optical lab work, including lens edging, mounting, tracing, blocking, and finishing, as applicable.
- Process direct insurance billing when applicable.
- Provide a high level of customer service throughout the entire eyewear process.
- Answer phones, book appointments, and respond to patient inquiries in a professional and friendly manner.
- Perform frame adjustments and minor repairs.

Requirements





- Previous experience working in an optical, optometry, or opticianry environment.
- Licensed Optician with current registration/in good standing.
- Hands-on optical lab or technician experience.
- Strong knowledge of eyewear, lenses, frames, optical dispensing, and fitting.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Solid time-management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a busy environment.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a collaborative team.
- Professional, dependable, and committed to providing exceptional patient care.
- Previous experience working with children or in a paediatric setting is an asset.

Pay: $22.00-$28.00 per hour
