Excel Towing is currently looking for an experienced Tow Truck Operator to join our team.

We are a busy 24-hour towing company providing a variety of towing, recovery and roadside services. We are looking for an experienced, dependable operator who takes safety seriously and can work professionally with customers and other agencies.

This is a full-time position. Starting wage will depend on experience. Benefits are available after successful completion of the probationary period.

Duties & Responsibilities

- Safely operate tow trucks and related towing/recovery equipment
- Perform vehicle towing, transportation and recovery using the appropriate towing method
- Properly load, secure and transport a variety of vehicles
- Respond promptly to dispatched calls
- Inspect vehicles and situations to determine the safest and most appropriate towing method
- Provide qualified and courteous service to customers
- Communicate clearly with dispatch and other parties on scene
- Complete required documentation and maintain accurate information for towing calls
- Follow company safety procedures and all applicable traffic and transportation regulations
- Work safely in roadside environments and in varying weather conditions
- Properly inspect and care for assigned truck and equipment

Requirements

- Previous tow truck operating experience is required
- Must be 23 years of age or older
- Must hold a valid Class 5 driver's licence with Air Brake Endorsement




- Must have a clean/acceptable driver's abstract
- Must have a clean criminal record and be able to provide a Criminal Record Check
- Strong knowledge of safe towing, loading, securement and vehicle recovery procedures
- Must be dependable and able to work independently
- Strong communication and customer-service skills
- Good judgment and problem-solving skills
- Must be physically capable of performing the duties of the position
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather and roadside conditions
- Must be available to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays as scheduled
