THE OPPORTUNITY: Philanthropy Advisor, Monthly Giving
As Calgary Health Foundation's Philanthropy Advisor, Monthly Giving, you will lead the growth, retention, engagement, and day-to-day management of our monthly giving program. Working with internal teams and external fundraising partners, you will develop and implement strategies to acquire, retain, reactivate, and upgrade monthly donors while ensuring a respectful and consistent donor experience. The role combines program management, campaign execution, vendor oversight, and data analysis to grow sustainable recurring revenue in support of healthcare innovation, research, equipment, and patient care.
Key accountabilities of the role include:
- Implement the monthly giving program strategy, including donor acquisition, retention, reactivation, upgrades, engagement, and revenue-growth initiatives to support annual fundraising goals and revenue targets.
- Oversee monthly giving operations and administration, including donor enrollments, payment management, account updates, reconciliations, and issue resolution,
while collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure accuracy and donor satisfaction.
- Manage and optimize vendor and partner relationships by establishing performance expectations, monitoring results, and ensuring fundraising activities align with organizational standards and provide a positive experience for donors, patients, families, and healthcare-site partners.
- Develop donor communications, stewardship, and engagement strategies in collaboration with other members. Create retention, recognition, conversion, and upgrade initiatives that strengthen donor relationships and increase lifetime giving.
- Monitor program performance and drive continuous improvement, using data, analytics, donor feedback, and industry trends to evaluate results, identify opportunities, improve ROI, and inform planning, forecasting, and budgeting decisions.
- Collaborate across the Foundation to integrate monthly giving into annual campaigns, digital fundraising, direct response, and broader donor engagement activities.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate is a fundraising qualified with proven experience leading donor programs that drive sustainable revenue growth and achieve annual fundraising goals. With a strong understanding of monthly giving acquisition, retention, stewardship, and recurring giving strategies, coupled with experience managing vendor relationships and a drive for continuous improvement,
the successful incumbent will leverage their analytical, project management, and relationship-building skills to enhance the donor experience, optimize program performance, and deliver measurable results.
Additional qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in fundraising, marketing, communications, business or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in fundraising, annual giving, donor relations, direct marketing, or program management.
- Demonstrated success managing fundraising campaigns, donor programs, external vendors or partner relationships.
- Experience using fundraising databases, CRM systems, and reporting tools.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a donor-focused and collaborative approach.
- Familiarity with Raiser's Edge NXT, Fundraise Up, Power BI, or similar platforms is considered an asset.
OTHER INFORMATION
It is expected that the starting salary for this position will be in the range of $75,000 - $85,000, aligned with the successful candidate's experience and skill set.
