Casual Event Décor Assistant

Pay: $17.60–$18.00 per hour

Job Summary

Star Light Events is seeking a reliable, hardworking, and enthusiastic Casual Event Décor Assistant to support event décor installations, styling, setups, and takedowns for all events and functions throughout the GTA.

This is a casual, event-based position. Hours are not guaranteed and will vary based on event schedules and business needs. Shifts may be available during the day, evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional early mornings or late nights depending on the needs of the business.

Hands-on training will be provided.

Responsibilities

- Assist with loading and unloading event décor, rental items, and equipment
- Prepare and organize décor items before events
- Assist with transporting décor and event materials to venues
- Set up and dismantle event décor, backdrops, balloon installations, centerpieces, signage, pipe and drape, and other event elements
- Assist with room transformations and event styling
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment
- Follow setup timelines and directions from the Event Lead
- Pack, organize, and return inventory to storage following events
- Represent Star Light Events professionally when interacting with clients, venue staff, and vendors
- Work independently or as part of a team depending on the needs of the business

Qualifications

- Reliable, punctual, and professional




- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable standing for extended periods
- Comfortable working on ladders when required
- Available for casual shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must have reliable transportation and be able to travel independently to event locations throughout the GTA
- Transportation to and from event locations is the responsibility of the employee
- Previous event, hospitality, retail, customer service, banquet, or setup experience is considered an asset
- Valid driver's license is an asset
