At the Foothills School Division (FSD) we are seeking a temporary MHCB - Success/Wellness Coach to join our team. This school-facilitation position will support the team by providing relief coverage to ensure the continuity of programming for our schools for the 2026/27 school year.

We anticipate being able to provide full-time hours (35 hours per week) for at least the month of October. This is primarily an on-site role which will require in-person attendance at our school locations. Evening and weekend work may be required.

Our Division & Communities

Foothills School Division (FSD) serves the learning needs of approximately 8000 students from preschool to grade 12. We operate 22 public schools, an online digital school, an alternative campus, and three colony schools. These are located in the towns of Okotoks, High River, and Diamond Valley, and the communities of Blackie, Cayley, Heritage Heights, Red Deer Lake, Longview, Millarville and Foothills County.

The Role

The Coach provides addiction and mental health promotion and prevention to children, youth, and families through Tier 1 universal programming. Working as part of a team,



this position develops and delivers developmentally appropriate, evidence-based programming that meets the objectives of the MHCB initiative. Delivery of programming involves large and small group work in schools and community settings, and focuses on increasing knowledge, building skills and fostering abilities that enable others to better their own mental health and wellness.

Qualifications & Work Experience

To prepare for this role, a related post-secondary diploma in social sciences is preferred, or relevant courses and experience with a minimum of two years working experience in addiction and mental health or health/human services related role (experience as a practicum student will be considered). You must be in valuable standing and have a valid practice permit with the Health Professions Act. In addition, a satisfactory criminal record/vulnerable sector check must be provided prior to hire.

A certification in Brain Story will be required either prior to hire or within in the first 6 months of employment; there is no fee however, it will be required to be completed on your own time.
