The Opportunity

We are an established commercial general contractor and construction management company seeking an Assistant Site Supervisor / Foreman to join our site operations team.

This is an entry-level supervisory position with a defined path toward becoming a full Site Supervisor. The successful candidate will work directly alongside an experienced Senior Site Supervisor, gaining hands-on experience managing commercial construction projects from site mobilization through turnover.

Our work includes large-scale commercial interior fit-outs and renovations for major retail clients, often in active or occupied environments with demanding schedules and high expectations for quality, safety and coordination.

We are looking for someone who already has a foundation in general contracting and wants to build a long-term career in construction supervision. This position is suited to an individual who is motivated, dependable, coachable and ready to take on increasing responsibility as their experience develops.

Responsibilities

Working under the direction and mentorship of a Senior Site Supervisor, you will assist with:

- Day-to-day coordination of construction activities on site
- Coordination and supervision of subcontractors and trades
- Reviewing and interpreting construction drawings, specifications and site details
- Monitoring construction progress, quality and schedule
- Coordinating deliveries, materials and site logistics
- Maintaining an organized, professional and safe job site
- Identifying site issues and assisting with practical solutions
- Communicating with project managers, subcontractors, consultants and other project stakeholders
- Assisting with site documentation, daily reports, deficiencies and closeout
- Participating in site meetings and trade coordination
- Ensuring work is completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and company standards
- Supporting project turnover and deficiency completion

As your experience and capabilities develop, you will be given increasing responsibility for managing trades, schedules, site coordination and ultimately your own projects.

Qualifications





The ideal candidate will have:

- 1–3 years of construction experience, preferably with a general contractor
- Exposure to commercial construction, renovations or interior fit-outs
- Ability to read and understand architectural and construction drawings
- Basic understanding of construction sequencing and trade coordination
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- A practical, hands-on approach to problem solving
- Ability to work effectively with trades, project managers and clients
- Solid attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Willingness to learn from experienced site supervision and accept increasing responsibility
- Ability to work independently when required
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation
- Appropriate construction safety training/certifications as required

Procore experience is considered an asset but is not required.

Travel & Scheduling Requirements

Our projects are driven by client schedules and may be located outside the immediate local area. Candidates must therefore be flexible regarding working hours and project location.

The position may require:

- Night work
- Evening or weekend work when required by the project
- Out-of-town assignments
- Travel to projects throughout the province
- Occasional out-of-province assignments

Candidates should be comfortable with the travel and scheduling requirements associated with commercial retail construction.

Career Development

This position is intended to develop into a Site Supervisor role.

You will work alongside experienced construction professionals who can provide practical mentorship in site management, trade coordination, scheduling, quality control, client expectations and project delivery.

As your knowledge, judgment and leadership capabilities develop, there will be opportunities to take ownership of increasingly complex projects and progress into a full Site Supervisor position.
