Production Worker – Washfloor | Toronto

K-Bro Linen System Inc. operates a large, modern, commercial laundry facility located in Mississauga. We are looking for soiled linen sorters/ dumpers for the washfloor department. We offer stable, long-term employment with excellent growth opportunities in a friendly work environment.

Work Location: 6045 Freemont Blvd, Mississauga ON

Rate of Pay: $19.42/ hr.

Shift: All production workers work 4 days a week with 3 days off. Shift starts at 7:00AM (schedule to be assigned based on department needs)

Responsibilities

This is a current position.

Main Responsibility

- Empty tubs, open up soil laundry bags and dump onto conveyor belt system in preparation for sorters to sort.
- Sort and separate soiled linen into designated chute for wash classifications.
- Remove garbage and/or items lost or hospital instruments (for return) from soiled linens.
- Ensure products are not mixed.
- Ensure sharp objects found while sorting are disposed correctly.
- Monitor chutes to prevent over weights (green/red lights).
- Monitor conveyor belt to prevent over height and overweight per Supervisor’s instructions.
- Assist loading/unloading full soil bins and empties onto trailers.
- Perform any other assigned tasks requested by Supervisor/Production Coordinator/Manager

Secondary Responsibility

- Wear correct P.P.E. for work area (hairnet, gloves, dust mask,



moisture resistant protective barrier gown closed toe tie down shoes required – steel toe shoes/boots recommended, earplugs- mandatory and supplied).
- Responsible for performing work in a safe manner by following safety rules, regulations and emergency evacuation procedure.
- Adherence and awareness of Blood Borne Pathogens Policy, Sharps Policy and PPE Policy.

Other Requirements:

- Must have a valid work permit (valid for more than 1 year).
- Must be available to work both Saturday and Sunday.
- Must be punctual with excellent attendance record.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position is located in a production plant environment and the work requires

- Continual physical effort all day such as bending stretching, pushing and pulling.
- Constant exposure to low-level noise from machines in the plant.
- Constant exposure to lint/dust particles in the air.
- Constant exposure to soiled laundry or chemical scent.
- Constant exposure to humidity and heat.
