About Aurora Generators

Aurora Generators designs and manufactures diesel power generators for residential, commercial, industrial, and off-grid applications.

We are looking for a hands-on Electrical Panel Builder / Generator Wiring Technician to join our production team in Newmarket.

The successful candidate will build generator control panels, fabricate wiring harnesses and power cables, and install completed electrical assemblies on diesel generators. This is primarily a production position—not a field-service, engineering, or advanced PLC-programming role.

Previous generator experience is helpful but not required. We welcome applicants with transferable experience from industrial panel building, automotive or heavy-equipment wiring, marine electrical work, machinery assembly, and wiring-harness production.

What You’ll Do

- Build and wire generator control panels from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and component-layout drawings.
- Mount and connect relays, circuit breakers, terminal blocks, switches, generator controllers, and other electrical components.
- Fabricate engine wiring harnesses and control-panel harnesses.
- Cut, strip, label, route, crimp, and terminate wires and cables.
- Complete accurate point-to-point wiring according to electrical schematics.
- Work with small-gauge control and sensor wiring.
- Fabricate battery cables and other heavy-gauge power cables.
- Install control panels, wiring harnesses, sensors, battery cables, and power cables on generators.
- Configure generator controllers using established settings and procedures.
- Perform visual inspections, continuity checks, and basic electrical testing.
- Identify and correct basic wiring and control-system problems.
- Maintain neat wire routing, secure connections, accurate labelling,



and consistent workmanship.
- Keep drawings, wiring records, and production documentation accurate and organized.
- Assist with mechanical generator assembly and other production work when required.
- Follow company safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.

What We’re Looking For

- Practical experience with electrical wiring, wiring-harness fabrication, or control-panel assembly.
- Ability to read and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and component-layout drawings.
- Strong wire-preparation, crimping, labelling, and termination skills.
- Comfortable using multimeters, continuity testers, crimping equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
- Good electrical troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
- Neat, consistent workmanship and solid attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently after an initial orientation.
- Ability to follow documented procedures and maintain accurate records.
- Dependable, organized, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively with a production team.
- CSA-approved safety footwear.

We care more about demonstrated wiring ability, workmanship, and understanding of electrical drawings than an arbitrary number of years of experience.

Experience That Would Be an Asset

- Industrial electrical panel-building experience.
- Generator or power-generation equipment experience.
- Automotive, heavy-equipment, marine, or industrial wiring experience.
- Experience fabricating engine or equipment wiring harnesses.
- Experience building battery cables or terminating heavy-gauge conductors.
- Familiarity with generator controllers,



engine sensors, relays, and protection circuits.
- Experience with electrical testing and basic troubleshooting.
- An electrical, electronics, electromechanical, or related college diploma.
- Electrical apprenticeship experience.

An Ontario electrician’s licence is not required for this production assembly position.

Compensation

The pay range is $21.00–$25.00 per hour, based on demonstrated ability, relevant experience, and the level of independence the successful candidate can bring to the position.
