The successful candidate will provide first-line technical support for customers using our dental and medical equipment, imaging software, and related computer systems, while also assisting with general customer service, order inquiries, and after-sales support.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working with computers and troubleshooting technical issues and, equally importantly, communicates patiently and professionally with customers who may have limited technical knowledge.
Key ResponsibilitiesIT & Technical Support
- Provide Level 1 technical support to customers by phone, email, and remote connection.
- Assist customers with installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of software and supported equipment.
- Troubleshoot Windows computers, network connectivity, drivers, USB devices, and basic hardware/software issues.
- Assist with dental imaging software, digital X-ray sensors, intraoral scanners, and other computer-connected dental equipment.
- Assist customers with software installation, updates, licensing, and configuration.
- Troubleshoot connectivity and integration issues between equipment, computers, and third-party software.
- Use remote-support tools to diagnose and resolve customer issues.
- Help configure workstations and basic office IT equipment for internal staff.
- Document technical issues, troubleshooting performed, and solutions.
- Escalate complex technical or hardware problems to senior technicians or manufacturers when required.
- Follow up with customers to ensure technical issues have been resolved.
- Answer incoming customer phone calls and emails in a professional and timely manner.
- Assist customers with product information, order status, shipping, warranty, repair, and service inquiries.
- Create and maintain customer service and technical-support records.
- Coordinate product repairs, returns, replacements, and warranty claims.
- Communicate with technicians, sales representatives, warehouse staff, and suppliers to resolve customer issues.
- Follow up on open service cases and keep customers informed of their status.
- Assist customers with basic product-use questions and direct more complex clinical or technical questions to the appropriate team member.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- College diploma or university degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Systems, Electronics, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in IT support, help desk, technical support, or customer service is an asset.
- Good knowledge of Windows 10/11 and general PC troubleshooting.
- Understanding of basic networking concepts, including Wi-Fi, Ethernet, IP addresses, and network connectivity.
- Comfortable installing software, drivers, and computer peripherals.
- Experience with remote-support software is an asset.
- Experience with dental/medical equipment or imaging software is an asset but not required; training will be provided.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Patient and comfortable explaining technical information to non-technical customers.
- Organized and able to manage multiple customer cases and priorities.
- Willingness to learn new products, software, and technologies.
What We Are Looking For
We are particularly interested in someone who:
- Enjoys solving technical problems.
- Has a robust customer-service mindset.
- Is comfortable talking to customers on the phone.
- Can troubleshoot systematically rather than simply following instructions.
- Takes ownership of customer issues and follows through until they are resolved.
- Is detail-oriented when documenting technical problems and solutions.
- Is willing to continuously learn about new dental equipment and software.
- Works well independently as well as within a small team.
