Base salary: CAD $45,000 annualized, approximately $22,500 over six months before deductions

About Complyva

Complyva is an early-stage, pre-revenue startup building an AI-assisted platform. We’re looking for a recent cybersecurity graduate with practical software development skills to help protect and build the product.

The role

Cybersecurity is the focus of this position. You will help identify risks, test safeguards, and improve how the platform protects customer information. You will also contribute to frontend and backend development.

Our longer-term security goal is to prepare the platform for an independent penetration test and a future SOC 2 examination. You will help move that work forward through testing, fixes, and documentation. This is a junior role: you will receive review on your work and will not be expected to approve major security decisions or declare the platform audit-ready on your own.

What you will do

- Test authentication, access controls, and separation of customer data.
- Review how documents and other external information enter the platform.
- Investigate security concerns and help implement and test fixes.
- Write automated tests to help prevent security issues from recurring.




- Help assess AI-assisted features for privacy risks, unsafe inputs, and unreliable outputs.
- Build and improve frontend features and backend services.
- Document security work and test results for future external assessments.
- Help track preparation and remediation work for a penetration test and SOC 2 readiness assessment.

What we are looking for

- A recent graduate in cybersecurity with practical software development skills gained through coursework, internships, or projects.
- A web application, API, or security project you can explain in detail.
- Basic knowledge of authentication, databases, APIs, and software testing.
- Ability to write code, debug problems, and learn unfamiliar systems.
- Clear communication and careful handling of sensitive information.

Professional experience in AI development, penetration testing, or SOC 2 is not required.

Term and future opportunities

Employment is scheduled to end when the six-month term expires. Depending on business needs, funding, and performance, Complyva may consider offering a permanent position. An extension or permanent position is not guaranteed.

The experience gained in this role may support a future career in application security, product security, software development, or AI application security.
