Kamloops Home Hardware Building Centre is looking for an experienced Yard and Forklift Operator to join one of the largest Home Hardware operations in Canada.

The opportunity

This is a full-time, permanent and year-round position in our lumber and building-materials yard. You will spend your day operating forklifts, preparing orders, loading customers and keeping product moving safely and accurately through a large, active operation.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys physical work, takes pride in doing things properly and is comfortable serving contractors, builders and homeowners.

What you will be trusted to do

- Safely operate forklifts while handling lumber, building materials and long or awkward loads
- Pick, stage and verify customer and delivery orders
- Load and unload vehicles efficiently without sacrificing safety or accuracy
- Receive, organize and rotate incoming inventory
- Help customers locate and load the correct materials
- Identify damaged, missing or incorrectly staged product
- Keep work areas, travel routes and storage locations clean and safe
- Communicate clearly with customers, drivers, sales teams and fellow yard employees

You may be a great fit if you

- Have previous forklift experience in a lumber yard, building-supply, warehouse or industrial environment
- Are confident handling large or challenging loads—not only pallets in a controlled indoor warehouse
- Work safely without needing to be constantly supervised
- Can remain accurate and professional when the yard becomes busy




- Are physically capable of repeatedly lifting and moving materials weighing 50 pounds or more
- Are comfortable working outdoors throughout the year
- Can reliably work a schedule that includes weekend days

Knowledge of lumber and building materials is a robust asset. Current forklift certification is welcome, but we can provide site-specific training and evaluation for the right experienced operator.
