Overview
Stormborn Studios is looking for a mid-level Houdini FX Technical Director to work on a variety of challenging projects. This is not a senior position – the successful applicant will have some experience and good training, and will collaborate with the supervisor. This is a full-time permanent position for the right candidate.

Duties

- building complex destruction setups, pyro/smoke simulations, ocean workflows
- lighting FX in Redshift
- perform large-scale simulations while maintaining a great level of detail
- develop the graphic elements that meet the clients’ objectives
- communicate with supervisor, production staff and team
- iterate new versions based on supervisor and client notes
- attention to detail, an eye for composition and colour
- ability to work to tight deadlines





Skills

- minimum of four years of Houdini VFX production experience
- related degree preferred, specialized FX certificate or diploma at a reputable school
- understands and uses VEX & HScript expressions
- basic Nuke experience
- experience and an eye for photo-realism
- Python knowledge is a plus
- FX experience in Max or Maya is a plus
- communicate in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment while managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of industry standards for visual effects pipelines and best practices in digital content creation. This position is ideal for innovative professionals passionate about pushing the boundaries of digital effects through technical expertise and creative problem-solving.

Pay: $39.00-$50.00 per hour
