Loader Operator – Heavy Industrial (Night Shift)

Position Type: Full-Time
Location: Balzac, AB (Just North of Calgary)
Shift: Monday to Friday | 3:30 PM – 4:00 AM (12-hour shifts / 60 hours per week)
Estimated Compensation: $22.00 – $26.00/hour (Based on experience) + Shift Premium & Overtime

About the Opportunity

On behalf of our client, a global leader in innovative building materials and concrete manufacturing, we are seeking an experienced Loader Operator to join their busy production facility in Balzac, AB.This is a long-term opportunity for a heavy equipment professional who thrives in a quick-paced environment and is looking for consistent hours (60 hours/week) with a predictable Monday to Friday schedule—allowing you to keep your weekends completely free.

Core Responsibilities

- Material Handling: Operate heavy wheel front-end loaders to safely move, transfer, and stockpile raw aggregate materials.
- Production Supply: Maintain a continuous flow of materials into aggregate bins, hoppers, and silos to eliminate downtime for the night manufacturing lines.
- Shipping Yard Logistics: Efficiently and safely load commercial transport flatbeds, trailers, and Super-B trucks according to bills of lading.
- Equipment Care: Perform comprehensive daily pre-shift and post-shift machine walkarounds (fluids,



tire pressure, hydraulics, greasing) and accurately log maintenance requests.
- Site Safety: Maintain a clean, obstacle-free yard environment while strictly adhering to site safety protocols under Alberta OH&S; guidelines.

What You Bring (Requirements)

- Loader Experience: 1–3 years of proven experience operating large wheel loaders (e.g., CAT 950+, John Deere 744+) within an aggregate, concrete, pit/quarry, or heavy industrial environment.
- Stamina for Nights: Proven capability to maintain sharp focus, safety, and productivity throughout a sustained 12-hour night shift schedule.
- Reliable Personal Vehicle: Because the facility is located in Balzac and shifts conclude at 4:00 AM, public transit is not available. A valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle are mandatory.
- Physical Capability: Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs, climb up and down from heavy equipment safely, and work outdoors in varying seasonal Alberta weather conditions.
- Safety Champion: A proactive mindset regarding safety protocols, including mandatory and consistent use of full PPE (steel-toed boots, high-vis vest, hard hat, safety glasses).

Pay: $25.44 per hour
