About the Role:

We are seeking a reliable Security Staff member to join our team at the busy Canadian Tire store in Cochrane, AB. This is a temporary position with the potential to turn into a permanent role. The position will start with part-time hours, with the potential to increase to full-time hours during our peak season in November and December. The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, attentive, and committed to ensuring a safe shopping environment for both customers and staff.

Key Responsibilities & Core Values:

- Remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
- Assist with store evacuation in cases of fire or emergencies
- Conduct regular store walks to prevent theft and ensure safety
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with staff and law enforcement when needed
- Monitor customers and staff to ensure merchandise is properly accounted for




- Maintain a visible, approachable presence throughout the store

Requirements:

- Must be able to close (1:30 PM – 10:00 PM)
- Flexibility is needed to meet scheduling needs (including potential hours increase in Nov/Dec)
- Strong communication and observation skills
- Previous experience or training in loss prevention/security is an asset
- Ability to remain alert, professional, and calm in all situations
