We are currently looking for Highway dispatcher in Acheson. This position will mostly entail short or long-haul dispatch.

Responsibilities

· Utilize various transportation provider software systems, to facilitate transportation planning and scheduling (Axon will be an asset).

· Scheduling pickup and delivery appointments for drivers.

· Responsible for follow-up communications to customers to ensure job was completed to customer satisfaction.

· Dispatchers should be professional in communicating to all customers, regardless of how busy it is, and /or how late the calls come in.

· Be aware of where drivers are at all times.

· Generating and maintaining a master list of all routes and trips.

· Assisting drivers with routing directions,



delivery issues and communicating service requirements

· Ensuring route coverage if a driver is absent or unavailable

· Advising the customer of all changes in route, accidents, breakdowns, emergencies or any other event disrupting service

· Responding to customer and client emails

· Updating inbound reports in Excel

· Performs other duties and assignments as required.

· Track shipments from pick-up through delivery so that accurate, up-to-date information can be provided regarding any shipment, update on transportation system.

· Organizes and maintains hard copy and electronic documentation supporting order fulfillment, pricing, and contractual obligations.

· Active involvement with problem-solving of issues presented.

· Ensure equipment and driver’s hours are effectively utilized.

· Find loads on load-link to haul with either calling load-link clients or contacting personal contacts.

Experience

· 4-5 years of previous experience in Transportation/Logistics field

· Strong computer proficiency, especially with MS office

· Ability to cope with pressure/stress, work efficiently in a fast pace/high volume environment

· Highly organized and detail oriented

Job Types: Full time, Permanent

Pay: $55,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
