Position Summary:

As a Videographer & Editor you will support the creation of videos and photo assets for marketing, product launches, education and social media.

You’ll work closely with the Video Production Manager and Marketing team to produce content that helps explain complex engineering concepts in a visually engaging and easy-to-understand way. This role is the highest-level technical and creative person on the video production team at Sienci Labs. The Videographer & Editor is responsible for lighting design and camera operation, on-set leadership, equipment maintenance and video editing.

This role reports directly to the Video Production Manager for project assignments, tasks, and timelines. We are looking for strong cinematography and video editing fundamentals, creativity and a willingness to learn. Tasks and duties include but not limited to:

On-Set & Shooting

- Lead every video production shoot from setup to wrap.
- Follow Sienci look and feel on shooting, lighting, composition, camera angles, and movement to bring video briefs to life.
- Direct shoots, keeping energy high and making talent and teammates feel totally at ease on camera.
- Lead the technical execution for live-streamed events.

Visual Style & Editing

- Own the visual identity of Sienci Labs content—dialing in consistent cinematography and editing.
- Cut, edit, and polish raw footage into engaging videos on schedule.
- Maintain standardized camera profiles, colour LUTs, and audio settings so all our content looks like it belongs to the same family.

Gear & Studio Management

- Keep the studio organized, clean, and prepped so it’s always ready to roll.
- Manage, track, and maintain all cameras, lenses, lighting, and audio gear.
- Build quick setup/teardown systems to make filming as seamless as possible.
- Flag gear upgrades, repairs, or missing equipment before they hold up production.

Pre-Production & Workflow

- Partner with the Video Production Manager to map out storyboards, shot lists, and tech needs before shoot day.
- Keep an eye on YouTube/social video trends and algorithm updates to test new shooting and editing techniques.
- Help standardize audio, lighting, and camera settings to keep quality consistent across all videos.
- Manage editing time to meet video production schedule.

Other Responsibilities

- Adapt long-form YouTube videos into high-performing short-form clips resulting in quick engagement.
- Design video thumbnails, basic motion graphics, and lower-thirds using Premiere Pro, After Effects, or Photoshop.
- Capture clean dialogue on set and perform post-production audio mixing (noise reduction, leveling, sound effect placement,



and music selection).
- Maintain a clean, organized cloud and local archive system for raw footage, project files, and final exports (using Sienci clear file-naming conventions).
- On-Location & Field Shoots: Plan for and execute mobile shoots outside the studio—packing lightweight kits, managing sound in uncontrolled environments, and adapting quickly on site.

Position requirements:

- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Motion Design, Graphic Design, Multimedia, Animation, Digital Media or a related field.
- 2–5 years of professional experience in cinematography, editing, video production, and digital content creation.
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, especially: After Effects; Premiere Pro; Illustrator; Photoshop.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating cinematography and video editing skills.
- Ability to take feedback, iterate quickly and work both independently and collaboratively
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Explicit communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset
