Shop Technician – Mechanical Assembly & Fabrication

We are currently recruiting for an experienced, hands-on Shop Technician to join a growing manufacturing environment. This is a versatile role for someone who enjoys working with their hands and is comfortable moving between metal preparation, mechanical assembly, equipment wiring, finishing, and packaging.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, takes pride in the quality of their work, and can confidently use a variety of hand and power tools. Experience in equipment assembly, fabrication, machinery building, pump systems, or a similar industrial shop environment is highly valued.

What You'll Be Doing:

* Measure, mark, and cut metal components using saws and other shop equipment

* Grind, deburr, buff, and finish metal parts to prepare them for assembly

* Assemble equipment, frames, pumps, and mechanical components using drawings, measurements, and work instructions

* Install and connect mechanical components such as pumps, fittings, valves, motors, and related equipment

* Perform basic equipment wiring and component connections within your demonstrated level of experience

* Use hand tools, power tools, saws, grinders, drills, and measuring equipment safely and accurately

* Read and follow basic mechanical drawings, instructions, measurements, and assembly requirements

* Inspect completed work and identify any material, fitment, assembly, or quality issues

* Assist with troubleshooting and correcting assembly issues when required

* Clean, protect, package, and secure completed equipment for shipment

* Maintain an organized, clean, and secure shop and work area

* Work collaboratively with the shop team while also being capable of working independently





What We're Looking For:

* Previous hands-on experience in a fabrication, manufacturing, mechanical assembly, equipment, or industrial shop environment

* Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools

* Experience using hand tools, power tools, saws, grinders, drills, and measuring tools

* Experience with metal cutting, grinding, deburring, buffing, or general fabrication

* Mechanical assembly experience; experience assembling machinery, pumps, skids, or industrial equipment is an asset

* Ability to take accurate measurements and follow drawings or written/verbal instructions

* Practical wiring experience is an asset; candidates should be able to clearly explain the type and scope of wiring they have performed

* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

* Reliable attendance and a dependable work ethic

* Positive attitude and willingness to take on a variety of shop responsibilities

* Ability to move comfortably between different tasks throughout the workday

The Right Person:

We're looking for someone who is dependable, hands-on, and takes pride in doing things properly. This isn't a role where you'll be doing the exact same task all day. You'll have the opportunity to work across different areas of the shop, from preparing and finishing components to assembling equipment, assisting with wiring, and preparing completed systems for shipment.

Someone who enjoys learning, solving practical problems, keeping busy, and contributing wherever needed will do very well in this environment.
