Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Functional Consultant to support Business Central implementations, enhancements, integrations, and ongoing client support.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, formerly Dynamics NAV, and be comfortable working directly with clients to understand business requirements, translate them into practical ERP solutions, and support implementations through the full project lifecycle.

This role combines functional consulting with enough technical knowledge to work effectively with developers, integrations, data migrations, reporting, and Business Central customizations.

Key Areas of Responsibility

- Work closely with clients to understand their business processes, requirements, challenges, and project objectives.
- Conduct requirements gathering sessions and translate business needs into Business Central solutions.
- Document business requirements, functional designs, process flows, solution designs, and technical specifications where required.
- Configure and support Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central based on approved business requirements.
- Participate in full lifecycle Business Central implementations, including discovery, design, configuration, testing, deployment, training, and post-go-live support.
- Work with development teams to design and deliver Business Central customizations and extensions.
- Support integrations between Business Central and external applications, platforms, and databases.
- Assist with data migration, validation, reconciliation, and integration activities.
- Review client requirements and provide estimates for scope, effort, resources, and implementation timelines.
- Clearly communicate project scope, estimated effort, dependencies, risks, and expected delivery timelines to internal teams and clients.
- Receive, manage, investigate, and resolve Business Central support cases.
- Provide functional consulting support for existing Business Central environments.
- Support troubleshooting of Business Central configuration, integrations, extensions, reporting, and system issues.
- Ensure Business Central solutions meet agreed requirements and successfully complete internal testing before delivery.
- Develop test scenarios and support functional, integration, and user acceptance testing.
- Follow established Business Central implementation and development best practices.




- Maintain high standards for documentation, solution quality, professionalism, and client communication.
- Provide regular and proactive updates regarding assignments, support tickets, project tasks, risks, and delivery status.
- Identify opportunities to improve internal processes, implementation methodologies, documentation, and client delivery practices.
- Handle client and internal escalations professionally and involve the Practice Lead when additional support or decision-making is required.
- Support Business Central installation, configuration, upgrades, and client environments where required.
- Stay current with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Power Platform, Dataverse, Microsoft cloud technologies, and related Microsoft product developments.

Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Operations, Commerce, Information Systems, or a related discipline. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
- Minimum 4 years of ERP consulting, implementation, development, or related technology experience.
- Minimum 4 years of hands-on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or Dynamics NAV experience.
- Experience participating in or leading full lifecycle Business Central implementations.
- Strong understanding of ERP business processes and how they are configured within Business Central.
- Experience gathering requirements and translating them into functional and system specifications.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central functionality.
- Experience with Business Central configuration, extensions, integrations, upgrades, and support.
- Understanding of AL and/or C/AL development concepts.
- Familiarity with JavaScript and related integration technologies.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server.
- Experience with Business Central reporting tools, including Jet Reports, is an asset.
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.
- Experience with Microsoft Dataverse.
- Experience integrating Business Central with other Dynamics 365 applications and third-party systems.
- Experience with ERP data migration and system integration.




- Good understanding of cloud computing technologies, particularly the Microsoft cloud ecosystem.
- Ability to troubleshoot functional and technical Business Central issues.

- Experience working remotely with distributed implementation teams.
- Exposure to manufacturing, distribution, warehousing, professional services, or other Business Central-focused industries.

Work Arrangement

This is a fully remote position and can be structured as either:

- Full-Time, or
- Part-Time

Candidates should be available for client meetings and project collaboration during agreed North American business hours.

Pay: $50.00-$60.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
