Kitchen Niche is a growing Canadian ecommerce retailer specializing in kitchenware, cookware, tea and related products. We are looking for a dependable, careful and organized person to coordinate inventory and help keep our ecommerce warehouse running smoothly.

Most inventory consists of smaller kitchen and household products rather than industrial materials or equipment. This position combines hands-on inventory work with basic Excel and computer-based tasks. No forklift operation or heavy machinery is involved.

This position will initially be approximately 20–30 hours per week during weekday daytime hours. The schedule can be somewhat flexible. Additional hours may become available during busy periods and for someone interested in learning computer-based administrative and ecommerce tasks. The role could potentially grow over time, but full-time hours are not guaranteed initially.

Responsibilities

- Receive and unpack incoming supplier shipments
- Count products and check shipments for discrepancies or damage
- Put inventory away in assigned shelves and bins
- Update product quantities and warehouse locations in Excel
- Maintain an organized, clean and safe warehouse
- Ensure aisles and work areas remain transparent
- Label shelves, bins and products accurately
- Pick and stage products for order fulfilment
- Assist with returns and inspect returned merchandise
- Prepare and label inventory for Amazon when required
- Identify misplaced products, inventory discrepancies and organizational issues




- Monitor commonly used supplies and advise when replacements are needed
- Assist with occasional computer-based administrative or ecommerce tasks after training
- Take ownership of keeping the warehouse and inventory-location system functioning properly

What we are looking for

- Careful and detail-oriented, particularly when handling fragile and expensive products
- Organized and able to maintain established systems
- Able to work independently and identify what needs attention
- Comfortable using a computer, typing and performing basic work in Excel
- Able and willing to learn new computer-based tasks
- Able to communicate clearly and ask questions when instructions or inventory information are unclear
- Reliable and punctual
- Comfortable performing a combination of physical and computer-based work
- Comfortable receiving, unpacking and shelving incoming cartons
- Most products are small kitchen and household items. Some cartons may be heavier or awkward, but assistance is available. Careful handling and accuracy are more important than lifting strength.
- Previous warehouse, inventory, receiving, retail stockroom or ecommerce experience is an asset but not required
- Reliable transportation is required due to the location

- Home-based ecommerce warehouse located in the De Winton area, between Calgary and Okotoks
- Reliable transportation is required, as public

Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 30.0 per week
