The Opportunity

We currently have an opening for an energetic and enthusiastic Accountant who is a strong multi-tasker and ready to take on the challenges of a busy accounting office. This position is 100% in-person at our Quesnel office and offers genuine advancement opportunities to grow with the firm.

Duties & Responsibilities

- Prepare working paper files and financial statements for assurance (Review/Audit) and compilation engagements.
- Prepare Canadian corporate tax returns, trust returns, and personal tax returns.
- Manage compliance matters, including BC PST and GST filings, payroll, and navigate WorkSafeBC reporting requirements.
- Assist local clients with bookkeeping-related queries and other ad-hoc financial questions.
- Maintain strong, reliable relationships with Cariboo-based, owner-managed businesses (e.g., forestry, agriculture, logistics, and retail).
- Communicate and liaise with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) on complex tax-related matters.
- Mentor, train, and support junior accounting staff and technicians.




- Contribute to special client projects and other related tasks as required.

Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant Canadian public accounting experience, with a strong preference for candidates possessing British Columbia public practice experience.
- Strong working knowledge of ASPE and ASNPO, including a solid grasp of BC-specific corporate tax credits and provincial regulations.
- Experience working with public accounting and tax software, with CaseWare and/or TaxCycle experience considered a strong asset.
- Excellent project management, time management, planning, organizing, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to seamlessly follow the Firm’s established procedures and systems.

Schedule & Hours
- Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours per day.
- Half-day Fridays from June to August.
- Overtime required during the T1 Personal Tax Season (March and April).
