About the Role

Our client is looking for a passionate and persuasive Advocacy Officer to champion key issues within the charity and voluntary sector in Kimberley. This role is central to influencing policy and public opinion to support the organization's mission and objectives. Working in a hybrid capacity, you will engage with policymakers, community leaders, and the public through research, communication, and campaign development. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of policy-making processes, excellent research and communication skills, and a commitment to driving positive social change within a flexible work arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct research on relevant social issues and policy landscapes to inform advocacy strategies.
- Develop and implement advocacy campaigns, mobilizing support and engaging stakeholders.
- Build and maintain relationships with policymakers, government officials, and other key influencers.
- Draft policy briefs, position papers, and advocacy materials for various audiences.
- Represent the organization in meetings, conferences,



and public forums related to advocacy efforts.

Requirements

- Proven experience in advocacy, policy analysis, or campaign management, preferably in the non-profit sector.
- Strong research, analytical, and writing skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly and persuasively.
- Excellent understanding of policy-making processes and legislative frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing independent work with cooperative efforts.
- A bachelor's degree in political science, public policy, law, or a related field.
