We partner with filmmakers, directors, and VFX supervisors to build innovative workflows that combine deep learning and generative AI natively with traditional 2D/2.5D visual effects.

Position Summary

We are seeking an AI+Compositing Experimental Artist to join our show production team, operating natively across both Foundry Nuke and ComfyUI. Working alongside VFX Supervisors, Lead Compositors, and Pipeline TDs, this role bridges generative AI creation and professional compositing, building custom ComfyUI graphs for video-to-video diffusion and style transfer, then bringing those passes into Nuke for final shot integration, keying, tracking, and finishing.

This role is tailored for hands-on visual effects artists who are equally comfortable building node graphs in ComfyUI as they are writing complex scripts in Nuke, using both applications daily to augment live-action plates and solve complex show challenges.

Key Responsibilities

- Dual-App Workflow Execution:



Work daily in both ComfyUI and Foundry Nuke to augment, clean, extend, and stylize live-action camera plates for show sequences.
- ComfyUI Graph Authoring: Build, optimize, and maintain complex ComfyUI workflows for video-to-video execution, ControlNet guidance, IP-Adapters, motion models, and custom LoRA implementations.
- Nuke Integration & Finishing: Bring generated elements, passes, and frames from ComfyUI into Nuke for precise plate integration, camera tracking, optical flow matching, keying, and ACES color pipelines.
- Nuke Machine Learning: Utilize Nuke-native ML tools (such as CopyCat and Inference nodes) alongside ComfyUI setups for automated rotoscoping, paint, beauty cleanup, and custom shot-based model training.
- Plate Augmentation & Style Transfer: Execute camera plate enhancements, digital set extensions, and footage transformations, ensuring seamless blending of generated outputs with original live-action photography.
- Model Evaluation & R&D;: Experiment with emerging diffusion models, LoRAs, ControlNets, and open-source vision tools within ComfyUI, documenting setups and creating reusable templates/gizmos for the team.
- Creative Alignment:



Partner with VFX Supervisors and Directors to rapidly iterate on look development, shot concepts, and sequence-level visual effects in a fast-paced show environment.

Qualifications

- Core Tool Mastery: High proficiency in both Foundry Nuke/NukeX and ComfyUI, with a deep understanding of node-based architectures in both applications.
- ComfyUI Expertise: Hands-on experience constructing advanced ComfyUI pipelines for video-to-video, ControlNet, AnimateDiff, regional prompting, and LoRA integration on high-resolution footage.
- Nuke Compositing Skills: Solid foundation in professional 2D compositing techniques including keying, tracking (2D/3D), roto/paint, grain management, re-projection, and color spaces (ACES/OCIO).
- Nuke ML Tools: Direct experience training or implementing models using Nuke’s CopyCat and Inference workflow is a major plus.
- Footage & Plate Manipulation: Understanding of video formats, framerates, camera noise/grain matching, lens distortion, and color matching between raw plates and AI-generated passes.
- Adaptability & Initiative: Passion for testing new AI tools and workflows as they launch, with the ability to pivot quickly in an experimental show environment.
- Portfolio / Reel: A strong reel or portfolio demonstrating high-end plate augmentations, compositing, and creative applications of ComfyUI models integrated into live-action shots. Do Note, this role will require a deeper show and tell of your Ai abilities, please be prepared to show your work or be required to do a test example.
