About The Role

We are seeking a hands-on Assistant Operations Manager to support the Senior Vice President of Operations in the day-to-day management of logistics, fleet coordination, and seafood plant operations.

The ideal candidate has direct experience working aboard commercial fishing vessels and is ready to transition from vessel operations into a shore-based operations leadership role.

This is not a desk-only position. You will spend time in the warehouse, on the dock, in the field, and coordinating with fishing vessels, freight partners, fishermen, and internal teams.

You will help ensure smooth coordination between fishing operations, vessel arrivals, logistics, freight, and plant operations while responding quickly to changing operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

- Support the Senior VP of Operations with daily seafood and fishing operations.
- Coordinate activities between fishing vessels, docks, warehouse operations, logistics, and plant operations.
- Assist with fleet and vessel coordination.
- Coordinate freight movements and resolve real-time logistics issues.
- Communicate with fishermen, vessel crews, vendors, freight partners, and internal teams.
- Monitor vessel arrivals, product movement, and operational requirements.
- Support warehouse and dock operations as needed.




- Identify potential operational issues and take proactive action.
- Help improve operational efficiency, communication, and workflow.
- Work closely with senior leadership on day-to-day operational priorities.
- Maintain accurate operational information and use Excel for tracking and reporting.
- Perform other operational duties as required.

Must-Have Qualifications

- Direct, hands-on experience working aboard commercial fishing vessels is required.
- Experience as a fisherman, deckhand, vessel crew member, or similar fishing professional.
- Experience in logistics, operations, supply chain, marine operations, or seafood operations.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Highly self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong foresight and ability to anticipate operational needs.
- Comfortable working in high-pressure and constantly changing conditions.
- Hands-on, team-oriented approach.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
- Forklift experience or willingness to obtain certification.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
