About the Opportunity

AfterQuery partners with leading AI research organizations to improve how advanced AI systems understand biomedical engineering, medical devices, and healthcare technologies. We are seeking experienced Biomedical Engineer Experts to evaluate technical content, create expert demonstrations, and help train next-generation AI systems.

This opportunity is ideal for biomedical engineers and medical device professionals with hands-on industry or research experience. You'll apply your expertise in areas such as medical device development, biomechanics, biomaterials, imaging systems, instrumentation, regulatory compliance, and verification and validation processes to improve AI reasoning and technical accuracy.

The work is fully remote, flexible, and focused on real-world biomedical engineering challenges. No prior AI experience is required.

Key Responsibilities

- Evaluate AI-generated biomedical engineering and medical device content for technical accuracy and engineering validity.
- Review device design concepts, engineering analyses, and development workflows.
- Create expert demonstrations involving design controls, risk management, verification, validation, and product development processes.
- Assess model-generated responses against biomedical engineering best practices and industry standards.
- Develop realistic biomedical engineering scenarios and technical problem-solving tasks.
- Identify errors in device design, testing methodologies, engineering calculations, regulatory considerations, and development workflows.
- Provide structured written feedback to improve AI performance and technical reasoning.
- Contribute expertise across product development, testing, quality systems,



and regulatory environments.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Biomedical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
- 2+ years of professional biomedical engineering, medical device, healthcare technology, or related engineering experience.
- Strong understanding of biomedical engineering principles and device development processes.
- Experience reviewing technical documentation and engineering analyses.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- High attention to detail and commitment to technical accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications
- MS or PhD in Biomedical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with FDA regulatory pathways, including 510(k) and PMA submissions.
- Familiarity with ISO 13485, IEC 60601, ISO 14971, and related medical device standards.
- Expertise in one or more areas such as biomechanics, biomaterials, medical imaging, instrumentation, signal processing, rehabilitation engineering, or wearable devices.
- Experience with design controls, quality systems, risk management, and product lifecycle development.
- Research, publication, or advanced technical development experience.
- Interest in AI, healthcare technology, and emerging medical innovations.
