Big Brothers Big Sisters of Guelph (BBBSG) is dedicated to ensuring every child in Guelph and surrounding areas has access to transformative mentorship opportunities. BBBSG empowers young people to realize their full potential, helping to build a thriving community. Through mentorship, the organization strives to break cycles of poverty, violence, and marginalization by promoting education, healthy lifestyles, and community integration.

BBBSG relies entirely on philanthropic fundraising efforts, backed by contributions from foundations, corporations, individuals, and fundraising events.

Role Description

Board Members play a critical role in providing governance, strategic guidance, and oversight to ensure BBBSG fulfills its mission.

Responsibilities include attending board meetings, actively participating in fundraising initiatives, contributing to policy and strategic development, and serving as an ambassador for the organization within the community.

Members work collaboratively with other members and the Executive Director to uphold organizational values and advance the mission of BBBSG.

Obtaining a explicit vulnerable sector check is mandatory as a Board Member.

- Fundraising abilities and strong community engagement capabilities
- Knowledge in non-profit management, board governance, or policy development

- Previous board experience
