ABOUT THE ROLE

Skiffra's anchor client, Dhilmar, runs a Canadian mining operation on roughly 140 applications with no internal view of the business processes those systems actually support. As Business Analyst, you'll build that view: mapping how the operation really runs, translating it into documented processes and system requirements, and turning what you find into tools the client can use.

You'll spend real time on site at Dhilmar's Éléonore operation — roughly a week a month, more during intensive mapping phases — learning the work directly from the people who run maintenance, the fleet, the plant, and payroll, in French. The rest of your time you'll be based in Montreal, working with Skiffra's engineering and product team to turn process insight into production tools.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Map and document business processes end to end — maintenance, fleet, plant, supply chain, HR, and finance — in a consistent, build-ready notation such as BPMN.
- Go on site, run workshops, and surface the gap between how a process is documented and how it actually runs.
- Analyze integrations between operational and enterprise systems, and specify the data that has to move between them — its owner, its quality, its lineage.
- Quantify the value at stake and turn your analysis into a working tool: a dashboard, data pipeline, or workflow app, built in SQL, Python, and a BI or low-code layer.
- Translate operational language into system requirements, and system behaviour back into language the site understands — you are the interpreter between the mine and the technology function.
- Establish process ownership: every process you document gets a named business owner who signs off and keeps it current.
- Train client users, hand over ownership, and document what you build.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

- Experience in business analysis or business process mapping, ideally with exposure to an industrial, asset-intensive, or mining workplace.
- Working-level SQL and Python, and comfort with a BI or low-code tool.
- Practical exposure to an ERP — SAP strongly preferred.
- Comfort running workshops and translating between operational staff and technical teams.
- Understanding of data governance concepts: ownership, lineage, and quality.
- Fluent French and working English — the site operates in French; group standards and vendors work in English.




- Based in Montreal and available to travel regularly to the Éléonore operation, on the order of once a month.

NICE TO HAVE

- Prior exposure to mining, heavy industry, or another asset-intensive operating environment.
- Experience in a carve-out, post-acquisition, or greenfield environment where documentation had to be created rather than inherited.
- Familiarity with a modern data platform — lakehouse, lineage tooling, semantic modelling.
- Time in a startup or founding-stage environment.

À PROPOS DU POSTE

Le client d'ancrage de Skiffra, Dhilmar, exploite une opération minière canadienne reposant sur environ 140 applications, sans vision interne des processus d'affaires que ces systèmes soutiennent réellement. À titre d'analyste d'affaires, vous construirez cette vision : cartographier le fonctionnement réel de l'exploitation, le traduire en processus documentés et en exigences systèmes, puis transformer vos constats en outils que le client peut utiliser.

Vous passerez du temps réel sur le site de l'exploitation Éléonore de Dhilmar — environ une semaine par mois, davantage pendant les phases intensives de cartographie — à apprendre le travail directement auprès des personnes qui font rouler l'entretien, la flotte, l'usine et la paie, en français. Le reste du temps, vous serez basé à Montréal, en collaboration avec les équipes d'ingénierie et de produit de Skiffra pour transformer les constats en outils de production.

CE QUE VOUS FEREZ

- Cartographier et documenter les processus d'affaires de bout en bout — entretien, flotte, usine, chaîne d'approvisionnement, RH et finance — dans une notation cohérente et exploitable, telle que BPMN.
- Aller sur le terrain, animer des ateliers, et faire ressortir l'écart entre le processus documenté et le processus réel.
- Analyser les intégrations entre les systèmes opérationnels et les systèmes d'entreprise, et spécifier les données qui doivent circuler entre eux — leur propriétaire, leur qualité, leur traçabilité.




- Quantifier la valeur en jeu et transformer votre analyse en un outil fonctionnel : tableau de bord, pipeline de données ou application de flux de travail, construit en SQL, en Python et avec une couche BI ou low-code.
- Traduire le langage opérationnel en exigences systèmes, et le comportement des systèmes en langage compris par le site — vous êtes l'interprète entre la mine et la fonction technologique.
- Instaurer la propriété des processus : chaque processus documenté est doté d'un propriétaire d'affaires désigné qui l'approuve et le tient à jour.
- Former les utilisateurs du client, transférer la propriété et documenter ce que vous avez construit.

CE DONT VOUS AUREZ BESOIN

- Expérience en analyse d'affaires ou en cartographie des processus d'affaires, idéalement avec une exposition à un milieu industriel, minier ou à forte intensité d'actifs.
- SQL et Python à un niveau fonctionnel, et aisance avec un outil BI ou low-code.
- Exposition concrète à un PGI — SAP fortement souhaité.
- Aisance à animer des ateliers et à faire le pont entre le personnel opérationnel et les équipes techniques.
- Compréhension des concepts de gouvernance des données : propriété, traçabilité et qualité.
- Français courant et anglais fonctionnel — le site fonctionne en français; les normes du groupe et les fournisseurs, en anglais.
- Basé à Montréal et disponible pour se rendre régulièrement à l'exploitation Éléonore, de l'ordre d'une fois par mois.

ATOUTS

- Exposition préalable au secteur minier, à l'industrie lourde ou à un autre milieu à forte intensité d'actifs.
- Expérience en contexte de scission, d'acquisition récente ou de démarrage, où la documentation devait être créée plutôt qu'héritée.
- Connaissance d'une plateforme de données moderne — lakehouse, outils de traçabilité, modélisation sémantique.
- Expérience en contexte de démarrage ou d'entreprise en phase de fondation.
