Position Summary

We are seeking a Clinical Trial Financial Control Analyst to provide independent financial control and reconciliation for Oncology-sponsored clinical research studies. Reporting within the Finance Division, the successful candidate will work closely with the Oncology Directorate, Principal Investigators, the Clinical Trial Billing Team and research operations to ensure financial integrity throughout the study lifecycle.

The role is focused on rigorous reconciliation between negotiated study budgets, clinical activities performed, billing and cash collections, with timely identification and escalation of financial risks affecting the Oncology portfolio.

General Duties

- Reconcile negotiated Oncology clinical trial budgets against actual clinical activities performed, including patient visits, procedures, milestones and pass-through expenses.
- Independently validate, in partnership with the Clinical Trial Billing Team, billing outputs against study activity, negotiated budgets and sponsor agreements.
- Identify and quantify financial deviations, including under-billing, over-delivery, incorrect rates, timing issues or missing documentation.




- Reconcile billed revenue against cash received and monitor outstanding balances, delayed or missing sponsor payments and collection risks.
- Perform detailed variance analysis and quantify the financial impact.
- Prepare structured monthly and quarterly reconciliation packages, including variance explanations and remaining contract balances.
- Escalate material financial issues and systemic risks to the Supervisor, Finance - Clinical Research Portfolio and, where appropriate, the Oncology Directorate.
- Prepare final financial reconciliation at study close-out to ensure all billable items are invoiced and payments received.
- Maintain complete, accurate and audit-ready documentation, ensure segregation of duties through independent review and approval.
- Collaborate with other analysts to promote standardized reconciliation methodologies, consistent financial controls and continuous improvement.

Education / Experience

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum 3-6 years in research finance, project accounting, or financial analysis.

Required Skills

- Ability to communicate effectively in French and English, spoken and written.
- Strong understanding of clinical research operations, patient visit logs, sponsor agreements and billing processes.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
- High attention to detail and sound professional judgment.




- Experience in an academic hospital or research institute environment is an asset.
- Accounting certification is an asset.

Additional information Status : Full-time term contract

Pay Scale: $45,518.20 - $84,484.40.

Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience

Work Shift: 8:30 am – 4:30 pm ( 35 hours work week)

Work Site: Hybrid (2155 Guy, Glen Site and Remote)
