About the Role

Our client is seeking a passionate and driven Community Organizer to mobilize and empower residents in Kimberley . This role is central to fostering civic engagement, advocating for community needs, and implementing projects that enhance the quality of life for residents in the Northern Cape . You will work directly with diverse community groups, build coalitions, and facilitate collective action to address local challenges and opportunities. This hands-on position requires strong relationship-building skills and a deep commitment to grassroots development and social change.

Key Responsibilities

- Identify and engage community leaders and residents to build strong networks and alliances.
- Develop and implement organizing strategies to address specific community issues and goals.
- Facilitate community meetings, workshops, and public forums to encourage participation and decision-making.
- Recruit, train, and support community volunteers and leaders.
- Coordinate campaigns and advocacy efforts to influence local policy and resource allocation.




- Collaborate with partner organizations to leverage resources and maximize community impact.

Requirements

- Minimum of a Diploma or Certificate in Community Development, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Proven experience in community organizing, advocacy, or grassroots mobilization.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Strong understanding of community development principles and social justice issues.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate community engagement.
- Proficiency in local languages spoken in the Kimberley area is a significant asset.
