Responsibilities

What will your days look like as an Environmental Coordinator?

Support environmental compliance and risk management:

- Support environmental compliance and environmental risk management initiatives;
- Participate in the development, updating, and implementation of environmental policies and procedures;
- Coordinate environmental compliance activities, including permits, audits, inspections, and regulatory follow-ups;
- Assist with investigations following incidents or spills and recommend corrective actions;
- Monitor regulatory developments and support operational teams in implementing applicable environmental requirements.

Support operations:

- Provide guidance to managers and operational teams on environmental matters;
- Support the implementation of environmental best practices and initiatives across various sites;
- Conduct site visits and promote a culture of environmental responsibility;
- Develop and tailor training and awareness materials.

Contribute to sustainability initiatives:





- Participate in projects related to water management, waste management, air emissions, energy efficiency, spill prevention, and biodiversity;
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to advance environmental projects;
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Environmental Management System (EMS);
- Coordinate the company’s participation in programs such as Green Marine.

Manage environmental data and reporting:

- Collect, validate, and analyze environmental data and performance indicators;
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date environmental records and documentation;
- Monitor greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, energy consumption, and other environmental metrics;
- Prepare reports and presentations for management and stakeholders.

Qualifications

To be successful as an Environmental Advisor, you will need:

- A bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Marine Science, Biology, or a related field;
- 2 to 5 years of relevant environmental experience, ideally within the maritime, port, logistics, or industrial sectors;
- A solid understanding of environmental compliance and areas such as water management, waste management, air emissions, spill prevention and response, permitting, audits, and environmental monitoring;




- Experience managing environmental data and preparing reports;
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and the ability to quickly learn various compliance and tracking systems;
- Experience with Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001) and/or the Green Marine program is considered an asset;
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills;
- Availability to travel occasionally within Canada and the United States;
- Full professional proficiency in both French and English, written and spoken; given the North American scope of the role and the interactions with partners, suppliers, and teams across the United States, fluency in both languages is required.
