Description

We are looking for a compassionate and team-orientated Crisis Services Advocate to join our Crisis Services team providing crisis service delivery, including agency Intakes, walk-in services, needs assessments, safety planning, information and referrals, assessing level of risk, providing information about crime victim’s rights and agency services, answering the 24/7 Crisis Line, and supporting Survivors Advocacy Team (SAT) response. This position requires participation in an on-call rotation for SAT response.

Reports to: Crisis Services Coordinator

Supervises: Assigned volunteers and interns

Primary Functions

- Provide crisis intervention and safety planning for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault

- Conduct agency intakes, including needs and risk assessments, service planning, and shelter eligibility screening

- Respond to crisis line calls, walk-in clients, and Survivors’ Advocacy Team (SAT) response needs, providing crisis intervention, information, and referrals

- Support Survivors’ Advocacy Team (SAT) response, including coordination and dispatch to hospitals and law enforcement agencies, as needed

- Assess client needs and connect clients to appropriate resources, including agency programs and community services

- Provide information and education on protective orders, crime victims’ compensation, Child Protective Services, and available agency services

- Coordinate with external partners, including mobile crisis units, as appropriate to support client safety

- Provide SAT on-call coverage,



responding onsite to area hospitals and law enforcement agencies to provide support and crisis intervention

- Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential client records and documentation

- Apply skilled judgment to client interactions, decision-making, and problem-solving in crisis situations

- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development as required

- Maintain flexibility to support evening, overnight, and weekend coverage based on program needs

- Participate in DCFOF staff and education meetings as requested.

Requirements

Prerequisites:

- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field

- Excellent oral and written Spanish

- Strong communication and organizational skills

- Demonstrated understanding of relationship violence, sexual assault, and trauma informed interventions

- Experience providing crisis intervention or working in a crisis response environment

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to lift 25 lbs

- Ability to easily climb stairs

- Ability to sit for long periods of time
