We are a friendly, busy family in Kitsilano looking for a reliable, organized and proactive family assistant to provide household support and after-school childcare for our three children (11, 10 and 5). This is a long-term, part-time position for someone who enjoys both working with kids and keeping a household running smoothly. The ideal person is warm and engaging with children, but also takes initiative and can independently identify what needs to be done around the house without needing a list or constant direction.

Schedule

- Monday - Friday
- Mostly afternoon/evenings
- ~25 hours per week (flexible for the right candidate)

About the Role

We're looking for someone who can take initiative and help reduce the afternoon/evening load in our home. During the school year, our kids attend after-school care, so there is flexibility in pickup timing. Most days involve household management activities followed by picking up the children later in the afternoon, bringing them home to reset, and getting them to their evening activities.

Responsibilities

- Daily tidying and organization (kitchen, living areas, general reset)
- Laundry (wash, fold, put away)
- Preparing kids' school lunches (during school year)
- Dinner prep (chopping, basic meal prep, simple cooking)




- School or camp pickup and driving to activities
- Helping kids transition home (snacks, unpacking, getting ready for activities)
- Occasional errands (e.g., groceries)

What We’re Looking For

- Organized, dependable, and self-directed
- Warm and comfortable with kids (school-aged)
- Able to prioritize and manage time independently
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record (driving is required)
- Previous experience in a similar role (nanny, household manager, or family assistant) is a solid asset

Compensation

- To be discussed (dependent on experience)
- Gas/mileage reimbursed when driving (if applicable) - vehicle provided for use of driving the children to/from school and activities
- Paid vacation in line with part-time schedule

Additional Notes

- This is not a deep cleaning role - we are looking for help maintaining a tidy, organized home
- We value someone who notices what needs to be done and takes initiative
- We're hoping to find someone who will become a consistent, trusted part of our household
