About the Role

Reporting to the Content Producer (French), Content & Curriculum, as a Translator & Editor (French), you will work closely with all members of the Content & Curriculum team to translate, adapt, and refine high-quality learning content across Mathematics and Science to support French Immersion & Core French students in grade 11-12. Projects are often high-intensity and high-profile, requiring a broad skillset and a willingness to work flexibly and hands-on to deliver accurate, polished solutions to customers within target timelines. This is a freelance, remote opportunity ideal for teachers or curriculum developers with a strong understanding of age-appropriate instruction, inclusive pedagogy, and engaging classroom practices.

Key Accountabilities

Rapid, Responsive French Content Development and Translation (65%)

- Translate, write, research, edit, storyboard, and create student- and teacher-facing material in Edwin to support market needs and boost engagement and retention.

- As required, communicate requirements, delegate tasks, and review the work of Nelson staff and freelancers to ensure competing deadlines and priorities are met.

- Use an agile workflow and development process to develop app-ready Edwin content.





- Respond promptly to internal and external content requirements, including new development, licensing, or repackaging of content.

Editorial Leadership(25%)
- Use customer feedback and usage data tocollaborativelyprioritize and plancontentforrevisions and/oradditions to the Edwin librarywithC&C; Leads & Specialists.

- Populate an editorial calendar for featured Edwin contentin collaboration with C&C; Leads and Commercial teamtofeature contentin a timely manner.

- In collaboration withContent & Curriculum, Content Services and Designteam, manageproject specificauthoring templates, guidelines, and best practices for developing consistent, bias-free, inclusive, and engaging Edwin content experiences.

- Research, write, edit, andstoryboard text/audio/video/interactive experiences for Edwin.

- As needed,supply marketingwith key benefit statements of profiled learning experiences.

Content Experience Design & Conceptualization(10%)
- Work in consultation with internal and external stakeholders(includingC&C; Leads,Content Experience,CSTs,Strategy,authors/creators,andeducators)toconceptualize and create enticingcontent learningexperiencesthat drivesusage,retentionand userdelight.

- Constantly consider the voice of the customerwhen authoring and developing new material, understandingteachingand learning challenges, approaches, curriculum,pedagogy,and initiativesthat driveclassroom needs,engagementand retention.

- Develop content outlinesandplans, and release schedules forassignedEdwin LOs,projects,collections, and modules;authoring or overseeing the authorship of these through to publication/live inapp.

- Bachelor’s degree in Education, French, Linguistics, Translation, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and professional experience in K-12 settings





- Exceptional understanding of K-12 pedagogy, curriculum,and instructional design, withdemonstratedexperience supportingFrench Immersionand Core Frenchprograms
- High levelofproficiencyinFrench and English, with the ability to translate and adapt educational content accurately and appropriately for student audiences

- Experience witheducational translation and localization, ensuring linguistic accuracy, cultural relevance, and age-appropriate language

- Knowledge ofsecond-language acquisitionprinciples and best practices for French Immersion instructionand acquisition

- Ability towork both independently and tocollaborate with educators, curriculum developers, and subject-matter experts
- Proven experience developing, adapting, and reviewingFrench Immersion learning resourcesaligned with curriculum outcomesin Canada

- Strong written communication skills, attention to detail, and editorial judgment

- Proficient problem-solver and driver of ideas

- Experience developinginclusive, accessible, and culturally responsive educational materialsthat support UDL

- Experience working withinprovincial/territorial curriculum frameworks(asset)

- Significant experienceinauthoring,editing, andcontent creationfor web,app,videos, interactives,and/or gamesin the EdTech sector

- Flexible technological mindsetkeepsuser experiencetop priority while embracing new and evolving software,AI,technologiesand skillsetrequirements

- Working ability in HTMLisa bonus.
