Become a full time Maintenance Technician at the Department of Public Works in Nantucket. This role focuses on the maintenance and operation of work vehicles and heavy equipment. The Department of Public Works is looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician to perform a variety of tasks under the Central Fleet Manager's supervision.

You will maintain and service equipment like dump trucks and snowplows while employing various tools safely and effectively. A high school diploma and up to three years of relevant experience are required for this role. Key Responsibilities:

- Maintain and troubleshoot work vehicles and equipment
- Operate heavy machinery including bulldozers and compactors
- Perform servicing and repairs on trucks and tools




- Utilize hand and power tools in maintenance tasks
- Collaborate with the Central Fleet Manager on equipment operations Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent education required
- Three years of experience in roadway or grounds maintenance
- Must possess a Class D Massachusetts Motor Vehicle Operator’s license
- Hoisting License and CDL Class B with tanker endorsement required within two years
- Position under AFSCME M4 Union Contribute to the effective maintenance of Nantucket’s public works fleet with your technical skills.
