Eastview Construction is a North Bay-based construction company with a diverse fleet of heavy equipment, trucks, and vehicles. We are looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment & Automotive Mechanic to join our team and help keep our equipment and vehicles safe, reliable, and operating efficiently.

Position Overview The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, diagnosis, repair, and servicing of a variety of heavy construction equipment, dump trucks, company vehicles, and automotive equipment.

We are looking for a skilled mechanic who can work independently, troubleshoot problems, and take pride in keeping equipment in excellent working condition.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing on heavy equipment, trucks, and vehicles
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Perform repairs and maintenance on diesel and gasoline engines
- Troubleshoot and repair braking, steering, suspension, and drivetrain systems
- Inspect equipment and identify potential mechanical problems before they result in breakdowns
- Perform welding and fabrication repairs when required
- Maintain accurate service and repair records
- Complete emergency and breakdown repairs as required
- Ensure all repairs and maintenance are completed safely and professionally
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop and work area
- Assist with maintaining Eastview Construction's fleet and equipment in a safe, roadworthy, and reliable condition

Qualifications & Experience

Required:

- Minimum 3 years of mechanical experience




- Minimum 3 years of experience working with heavy equipment and/or automotive vehicles
- Strong knowledge of diesel and gasoline engines
- Experience troubleshooting mechanical and hydraulic systems
- Ability to diagnose mechanical problems and determine appropriate repairs
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Robust attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety
- Valid driver's licence perfered but not required
- Own tools, shop area provided for box storage

Assets:

- Experience working on excavators, loaders, graders, dozers, skid steers, and other construction equipment
- Experience working on dump trucks and other heavy-duty vehicles
- Welding and fabrication experience perfered but not required
- Experience with electrical and electronic diagnostic systems
- Class DZ driver's licence perfered but not required
