Coast Mountain College (CMTN), Terrace campus, invites applications for a full-time term Housing Coordinator. The appointment will commence October 1, 2026 and end November 30, 2027 (subject to a leave).Evening and weekend work may be required as necessary.Salary will be in accordance with the BCGEU Support Staff salary scale, Level 10: $2,452.80 bi-weekly plus a comprehensive benefits plan.

Duties: The Housing Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of Student Housing and fostering a safe, inclusive, and welcoming living environment that promotes student success and wellbeing. Reporting to the Manager, Student Housing and Campus Community, this position coordinates housing applications, room assignments, occupancy processes, student communications, residence operations, housing records, and community-building initiatives.

An illustrative sample of key responsibilities include:

- Coordinate day-to-day student housing operations, including applications, room assignments, occupancy, and housing administration.
- Serve as a primary contact for students, providing support, information, and referrals to appropriate resources.
- Maintain accurate housing records, systems, and documentation while ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.




- Support a safe, inclusive, and welcoming residence community through student engagement, orientations, and community-building initiatives.
- Monitor residence facilities and coordinate inspections, maintenance, access control, and inventory management.
- Address routine student concerns, conduct matters, and incidents using conflict resolution and trauma-informed practices, escalating complex issues as required.
- Collaborate with Housing Advisors, Security, Facilities, and campus partners to promote student wellbeing and a positive residential experience.

Qualifications

- A Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Social Work, Education, Business, Hospitality, or a related discipline.
- Three years of directly related experience in Student Services, Housing, Hospitality, or a related environment.
- Experience working with students or individuals from diverse cultural, social, and lived-experience backgrounds.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent conflict resolution, problem-solving, and de-escalation skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgement, discretion, and professionalism when dealing with confidential or sensitive information.
- Proficiency with computer applications such as Office 365, Colleague, CRM, and related systems.
- Experience working in a multicultural environment.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification.
- Mental Health First Aid, ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training), trauma-informed practice, and overdose prevention and response/naloxone training, or equivalent, are required or must be completed within three months of commencing the position.
- Legally able to work in Canada.
- Valid BC Driver’s License.
