Reporting to the Director, People and Culture, the Human Resource Generalist is responsible for the effective administration and delivery of the Museum's human resources programs, policies, and services. The position provides professional human resources advice and operational support to managers and employees across the employee lifecycle while ensuring compliance with applicable legislation, Museum policies, and collective agreement provisions.

The Human Resource Generalist coordinates recruitment, onboarding, employee records, advantages administration, performance management processes, learning and development activities, and occupational health and safety administration. The role coordinates employee engagement initiatives including internal communications and staff events.



The incumbent works collaboratively with leaders throughout the Museum to promote a respectful, inclusive, safe, and high-performing workplace aligned with the Museum's values and Human Resources Strategy.

The Human Resource Generalist also provides administrative and technical support to the Director, People and Workplace Culture in implementing organizational initiatives, preparing reports, maintaining HR metrics, and coordinating projects that strengthen the employee and volunteer experience as well as organizational effectiveness.
