About the Position

Dimpflmeier Bakery Limited is seeking an experienced Bakery Machinery Mechanic to support the maintenance, repair and reliable operation of machinery and equipment at our bakery manufacturing facility in Etobicoke.

The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting mechanical issues, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, repairing and replacing machinery components, setting up equipment, and helping ensure that production machinery operates safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

Inspect bakery production machinery and equipment to identify irregularities, wear and malfunctions.

Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and equipment-related problems.

Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery.

Repair or replace defective machinery parts and components.

Assemble mechanical equipment and stationary industrial machinery.

Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings and specifications to determine work requirements.

Set up, adjust and test machinery following maintenance and repairs.

Fabricate or modify parts required for machinery maintenance, repair, overhaul or set-up.

Operate appropriate machining tools to fabricate or repair machinery components.

Assist with the installation and set-up of machinery and equipment.

Work with bearings, seals and packing as part of machinery maintenance and repair.





Troubleshoot and work with programmable logic controller (PLC)-controlled equipment, as applicable.

Perform welding required for machinery maintenance and repairs.

Conduct start-up and testing of equipment to verify proper operation after maintenance or repair.

Follow workplace health and safety procedures while performing maintenance and repair activities.

Qualifications

Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.

2 to less than 3 years of relevant experience in industrial machinery maintenance, mechanical repair, manufacturing equipment or a related field.

Experience troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing industrial or production machinery.

Ability to read technical drawings, blueprints and equipment specifications.

Experience using tools and equipment associated with machinery maintenance and repair.

English language proficiency sufficient to perform the duties of the position and communicate effectively in the workplace.

Work Setting and Physical Requirements The position is performed on-site in a bakery manufacturing environment and may involve exposure to noise. The work is physically demanding and requires attention to detail, prolonged standing, and bending, crouching and kneeling while inspecting and repairing machinery.
