About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and visionary Lead Data Scientist specializing in Genomics for a fully remote position. This leadership role is pivotal in driving the development and application of advanced analytical methods to interpret large-scale genomic datasets. Key Responsibilities

- Lead the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge machine learning and statistical models for genomic data analysis.
- Manage and mentor a team of data scientists and bioinformaticians, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Collaborate closely with geneticists, biologists, and clinicians to identify key research questions and translate them into data-driven projects.
- Oversee the development of robust analytical pipelines for processing and interpreting diverse genomic datasets (e.g., WGS, WES, RNA-seq).




- Present complex findings and strategic recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and genomics, and champion their adoption.

Requirements

- PhD or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Bioinformatics, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in data science, with a significant focus on genomics or bioinformatics.
- Proven experience leading technical teams and managing complex data science projects.
- Expertise in programming languages such as Python or R, and proficiency with relevant libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Strong understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and their application to biological data.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, suited for a remote leadership role.
