Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low voltage systems across various commercial and residential projects. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, schematics, and technical skills related to security, telecommunication, and networking infrastructure.

The Low Voltage

Technician will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, security, and operational efficiency of our clients' facilities.

Duties

- Install, troubleshoot, and repair low voltage systems including CCTV, sensors, Audio/Video and telecommunication networks
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute installations and repairs
- Use hand tools and power tools safely to perform wiring, mounting, and system setup tasks
- Conduct system testing to ensure proper operation of security cameras, sensors, and network components
- Collaborate with construction teams during new builds or renovations to integrate low voltage systems seamlessly
- Perform routine maintenance on existing low voltage infrastructure to prevent system failures
- Document work performed and update system records accurately for future reference
- Adhere to safety protocols and electrical codes during all phases of installation and maintenance

Requirements

- Proven experience with electrical systems, CCTV installation, computer hardware, and computer networking
- Robust mechanical knowledge related to sensors, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), and telecommunication equipment
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings effectively




- Familiarity with low voltage wiring techniques and the use of hand tools and power tools
- Knowledge of schematics related to security systems and electrical layouts
- Experience working in construction environments or similar settings preferred
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems efficiently
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments

· Able to lift “Heavy” items up to 50lbs or more with assistance

· Travel will be required

·Required: Tools, hard hat, steel-toed safety boots, vest, basic tools.

· Required: Security License

· Required: Valid class 5 Operator’s license, Security License The ideal candidate will possess the following:

· 2 or more years’ experience in a similar industry, such as cable TV, satellite or home entertainment installations with CAT 5, 6, 7, VGA, RGB, BNC, RS232 experience

· Networking knowledge

· First Aid, Fall Arrest and other safety certifications are an asset

· Help desk/troubleshooting experience is beneficial

· Strong focus on quality and customer satisfaction

Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
