About Shine
Shine is a Quebec-based digital health startup developing a wearable biosensor for continuous, non-invasive hormone monitoring. Our technology measures hormones and other biomarkers passively and directly through sweat, generating longitudinal data that can support earlier intervention, more personalized care, and better management of health and well-being.
Our first product is a wearable system designed to continuously monitor cortisol, helping users understand their individual cortisol patterns, establish a personal baseline, and see how those patterns shift alongside sleep, stress, lifestyle, and hormonal transitions. We are initially focused on women navigating perimenopause and menopause, when hormonal fluctuations can affect sleep, mood, energy, cognition, and overall well-being.
Over time, Shine plans to expand beyond cortisol to additional hormones, creating a continuous hormonal intelligence platform that provides a more complete, longitudinal view of hormonal health. Our goal is to make hormones as easy to measure and understand as heart rate is today.
About the Role
We are building a technology with the potential to transform personalized health, and we are looking for someone to help build the foundations of Shine’s growth and community.
Your primary responsibility will be to grow Shine’s early audience and establish a consistent, credible public presence as we move from technical validation toward early commercialization. This is a build-from-near-zero role, with responsibilities across the following areas:
Communications Strategy & Channel Ownership
- Help shape and execute an integrated external communications strategy across social media, the website and other external-facing materials..
- Own Shine's external channels, defining how we show up across all communication platforms.
- Develop and test approaches for audience growth, engagement, and platform expansion.
- Ensure consistency of messaging, tone, and positioning across every social touchpoint, the website, and partner-facing materials.
Content Strategy and Storytelling
- Lead the development of a proactive, forward-looking content roadmap aligned to key initiatives, milestones, and funding opportunities.
- Translate technical and clinical progress into content a non-expert audience can follow and care about.
- Ensure all content reflects a cohesive voice, strong narrative,
and high standard of quality.
- Identify opportunities to amplify key messages, company milestones, partnerships, and research findings.
Content Creation and Delivery
- Produce high-quality social content across formats (copy, visuals, video).
- Use accessible creative tools to produce polished visual and multimedia assets.
- Own the editorial calendar, ensuring consistent, timely, and coordinated delivery of content.
- Maintain an organised, reusable content library so assets get used more than once.
Performance Insights & Optimization
- Define and track key performance metrics across Shine’s digital channels, including reach, engagement, audience growth and content performance.
- Use data and insights to continuously refine strategy, content, and platform approach.
- Provide actionable recommendations to strengthen brand presence and improve performance.
- Monitor external trends and adjust strategies to maintain a relevant and differentiated market position.
Funding, Events & Chance Support
- Help identify and pursue external opportunities that increase funding, visibility and credibility, including grants, accelerators, awards, pitch competitions and conferences.
- Support application and submission work: formatting, assembling supporting materials, and managing the process to submission.
- Prepare event and conference materials, and coordinate logistics around speaking and showcase opportunities.
Who you are
- A post-secondary graduate with 2–4 years of experience in growth, content, digital marketing, communications or something adjacent that taught you the same skills
- You write clearly and enjoy doing it. Send us something you wrote that you are proud of (a landing page, a newsletter, a story, a report).
- You have a strong visual instinct. You'll be shaping how the Shine brand shows up across all external communication channels. You do not need to be a designer, but should recognize what good looks like.
- You have a genuine interest in women's health.
You will spend a lot of time learning and communicating about hormones and perimenopause, so curiosity about the space matters.
- You are comfortable with numbers. You can set up basic analytics, interpret channel and funnel performance, and use the results to recommend what we should change.
- Nice to have: French fluency; experience in health, wellness, biotech, or another technical category; a track record of growing a community or an audience from scratch (including your own).
The honest caveat
We are a small, early-stage team. There is no established marketing function or playbook. That means meaningful ownership and the opportunity to create work that will shape Shine. It also means ambiguity and requires a willingness to move between strategy and hands-on execution. This role will suit someone who finds that energizing and is genuinely interested in women’s health and emerging technology.
