About the Role:

The Overnight DC Supervisor plays a critical role in overseeing the operations of the distribution center during overnight shifts to ensure efficient, accurate, and timely processing of all inbound and outbound shipments.



This position is responsible for leading and motivating a team of associates, managing workflow, and maintaining safety and quality standards throughout the shift. The supervisor will collaborate closely with other departments to resolve issues, optimize processes, and meet key performance indicators.

They will also be accountable for training new team members and enforcing company policies and procedures. Ultimately, the role ensures that the distribution center operates smoothly overnight, supporting overall supply chain effectiveness and customer satisfaction.

Minimum Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a distribution center or warehouse environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and safety standards.
- Ability to work overnight shifts and manage a team during these hours.
- Proficient in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic computer applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Post-secondary education in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement.
- Certification in occupational health and safety or related areas.
- Demonstrated leadership training or courses.
- Bilingual in English and French,

Responsibilities:

- Supervise and coordinate the activities of overnight distribution center staff to meet daily operational goals.
- Monitor workflow and productivity, adjusting resources and priorities as needed to maintain efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
- Conduct training and development sessions for current and existing employees to enhance team performance.
- Collaborate with other supervisors and management to address operational challenges and implement process improvements.
- Oversee inventory accuracy and quality control measures to minimize errors and losses.
- Prepare and submit shift reports detailing performance metrics, incidents, and operational issues.
- Resolve employee conflicts and provide coaching to promote a positive and productive work environment.

Skills: The Overnight DC Supervisor utilizes strong leadership and communication skills daily to effectively manage and motivate the overnight team, ensuring explicit understanding of tasks and expectations. Analytical skills are essential for monitoring performance metrics and identifying areas for operational improvement. Proficiency with warehouse management systems and technology enables accurate tracking of inventory and workflow management.

Problem-solving skills are frequently applied to resolve unexpected issues and maintain smooth operations. Additionally, knowledge of safety protocols and regulatory compliance is critical to uphold a safe working environment for all employees.
