We're recruiting for a forward-thinking accounting firm seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their team.

You'll work with clients across industries including technology, energy, wellness, and professional services, while gaining exposure to modern accounting technology and AI-enabled workflows.

The Opportunity

Part-Time | 20–30 hours/week

$22–$28/hour

Flexible hybrid work model

What You'll Be Doing

- Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for multiple clients
- Record and categorize transactions using QuickBooks Online and other accounting software
- Complete bank, credit card, loan, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Manage and review AP and AR records
- Assist with payroll entries and reconciliations
- Prepare GST/HST bookkeeping records and supporting documentation
- Prepare month-end and year-end files, schedules, and supporting documentation
- Identify discrepancies and follow up with clients to resolve outstanding items
- Communicate directly with clients to obtain missing information
- Support bookkeeping clean-up and catch-up engagements




- Leverage technology and AI tools to improve efficiency and accuracy

What We're Looking For

- 2+ years of public accounting experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from a North American university or college
- CPA designation pursuit required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with tax filings and a solid understanding of the CRA Tax Code
- Experience with accounting and income tax software
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Tech-savvy, proactive approach to accounting and problem-solving
